Stay connected. Stay on track.
Alliance Physical Therapy is prepared to utilize our telehealth platform as a solution to address the needs of our patients during this time when visits to our clinic may not be an option. As State and Federal Officials make recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, it is our social responsibility to help be a part of the solution. Our therapists are ready to provide quality healthcare in the comfort of your home.
Our HIPAA compliant digital platform is powered by Doxy.me. No interruptions to plans of care, even when scheduled clinic visits are not an option. With increased access to telehealth services, our highly-trained physical therapists are able to use Doxy.me to conveniently, easily and securely ensure patients continue to progress. Please read the “getting started for patients” handout for descriptions on how to schedule and participate in your appointment.
What is telehealth?
Telehealth gives you access to stay connected remotely with a physical therapist. These remote, often referred to as “virtual” therapy sessions, allow you to take control and have a choice over your health in your home environment with a highly-trained therapist at your fingertips. Connect with your therapist with either a cell phone, computer or tablet.
Do telehealth visits provide the same quality of care?
During a visit the therapist will be watching your movement and activities to determine the treatment. Therapist will be taking range-of-motion measurements or asking you to perform functional tasks. They will provide you with education and modify activities to decrease pain as well as strengthen and much more. At Alliance Physical Therapy our goal is to produce the same or better outcomes in the comfort of your home.
When should you consider a telehealth visit?
If you are considered at risk or displaying symptoms please stay home. If it has been recommended by a medical professional that you stay at home, or feel uncomfortable attending your scheduled appointment, then telehealth is a great option for you to continue your therapy sessions. Our staff will be able to provide quality care and education from virtually anywhere using a computer with a camera, tablet or cell phone. Please call the clinic if you have any questions if you would be an ideal candidate.
Will I need to download software or apps and is it safe?
The secure HIPAA compliant platform we will be using is Doxy.me. An Alliance Physical Therapy staff will be sending you an email with a link attached. Just click the link and you will be connected securely with the therapist without the need of downloads. Doxy.me does not store any conversations or information provided during the teleconference.
What can you do to prepare for your video call?
In order to have the best experience for your telehealth appointment we ask that you choose a location that is quiet and has good lighting so your provider can see you. As well as wear comfortable clothes that allow movement. For cell phones, tablets and laptops make sure you have a charger handy in case your battery begins to run low mid-call.
