Occupational Therapy

Picture
At Alliance Physical Therapy, we provide a variety of services in upper quadrant orthopedic therapy. We treat the shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, neurological disorders, stroke and hand with injuries including fractures, nerve compression's, tendon injuries and various other post-operative diagnoses. Our services include treatment with the most up to date protocols, splinting and manual therapy.
When appropriate, an adjunct to your therapy program may include thermal plastic splinting. Thermal plastic splinting is completed while the patient is present in the clinic and is custom fabricated to meet that patient's needs. Straps are applied to stabilize the splint securely to the body part. Thermal plastic splinting can be utilized for the following:

  • To immobilize and protect a joint
  • To protect soft tissue structures
  • To immobilize a fracture
  • Post operative management of tendon or ligament surgeries
  • Static progressive or Dynamic splinting to increase motion of joints or increase soft tissue mobility
  • To decrease entrapment of a nerve i.e. carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, etc.
  • To isolate specific joint motion
  • To provide protection / support for sports activities, recreational activities, hobbies, work duties or other occupational activities
